Entries for the Poetry Contest are due March 19, 2019.  The contest is sponsored by the Friends of the Fort Ashby Public Library and the Ice Mountain Writers and the Hampshire County Arts Council.  Cash prizes will be awarded.  There are four age categories; K-5, 6-8, 9-12, & adult.   A tea to honor the winners will be held on April 9 at 6:30 pm.


Welcome to the Public Library in Fort Ashby, WV


We are a branch of the Mineral County Library Association, which includes our main library Keyser-Mineral County Public Library in Keyser, WV and the branch, Burlington Public Library in Burlington, WV. We offer the community many wonderful programs, such as, Children's Story Hour, Ft. Ashby Readers, and the Summer Reading Program. Some of the services we offer are Inter-Library Loans, Fax & Copy Services, Notary and Wi-Fi Services. What's Happening At The Library




March 5  -- 6 pm -- Junior Book Club --  This is a new book club for grades 5-12.  We will be meeting to discuss Hatchet by Gary Paulsen.


March 6 --  11 am -- Homeschool Group: Storybook STEAM: We will be reading Harvey Potter's Balloon Farm by Jerdine Nolan and building a balloon cannon.


March 7 --  3:30 pm -- Story & Craft Time: Clocks!  We will be reading Chicka Chicka Rock by John Archambault and making a clock craft.


March 12 --  4 pm -- Lego Club: The club will meet to make Lego creations with other Lego enthusiasts!  Ages 5 and up.  Below 5 can attend with adult supervision


March 14 --  3:30 pm -- Story & Craft Time: St. Patrick's Day!  We will be reading How To Catch a Leprechaun by Adam Wallace and making a St. Patrick's Day craft.


March 19 -- 2 pm -- Fort Ashby Readers: The Group will  meet to discuss When We Found Home by Susan Mallery.


March 19 -- 6 pm -- Curious Minds STEAM Club:  The Group will building a balloon cannon.


March 20 --  11 am -- Homeschool Group: Movie Day: We will be watching Ralph Wrecks the Internet.


March 21 --  3:30 pm -- Story & Craft Time: Ladybugs!  We will be reading Are You A Ladybug? by Judy Allen and making a ladybug craft.


March 26 --  4 pm -- Lego Club: The club will meet to make Lego creations with other Lego enthusiasts!  Ages 5 and up.  Below 5 can attend with adult supervision


March 28 --  3:30 pm -- Story & Craft Time: Music!  We will be reading Banjo Granny by Sarah Busse and making a musical instrument.
